Specific topics covered will include:
- Hurdles facing recycling in rural America
- How to address these hurdles economically and efficiently
- Managing compost windrows
- How to foster voluntary participation in a recycling program
- Tools to promote recycling education in rural areas
- Ideas you may utilize to supply your recycling program with the necessary tools to make your program self-sufficient and self-sustaining
The goal of this eSession is to provide participants the chance to take a fresh look at recycling and gather information to supplement or begin a recycling program. Participants will leave this web session with a step-by-step plan of how to make recycling work in their communities, from start-up to full implementation. This session will provide information that can be catered to individual recycling needs, and it will address hurdles faced in trying to implement a successful recycling program without the aid of grant money.
Rural and voluntary recycling programs are a breed all their own and must provide incentives to the participant to encourage and boost recycling. Nicholas County Solid Waste Authority Executive Director Larry Bradford will take you step by step through a successful program which continues to grow.
