John H. Skinner, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), was elected to the Board of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) by the ISWA General Assembly at its meeting in Hamburg, Germany on November 14, 2010. ISWA is an international non-profit association working in the public interest to promote and develop sustainable waste management practices worldwide.
In presenting his candidacy to the General Assembly, Skinner said: “ISWA is at a critical time in its history. More and more countries are seeking National Membership, our opinion is sought-out and respected and our future is filled with great opportunity. I am enthusiastic to lend my efforts to help guide that future and to make SWANA’s involvement in ISWA more beneficial to SWANA members.”
