The Sunflower Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America annually provides two (2) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors or graduate equivalent certified candidates who have been accepted for enrollment at a junior college or any four-year institution. Any degree program is welcomed to apply.
All eligible candidates MUST be the following:
- A Kansas resident or a graduate of a Kansas High School
- Child or Grandchild of a SWANA member in good standing as of May 1st of the current year
The scoring of applicants will be based on the following criteria:
- Academics (50%)
- Community Activities (20%)
- Extracurricular (20%)
- Quality of Written Discussion (10%)
The winning candidates will be submitted by the chapter for the national scholarship sponsored by the Solid Waste Association of North America.
March 31st is the deadline for submission of application materials.
