2019 SWANA 2019 Grant H. Flint Scholarship Program and Robert P. Stearns/SCS Engineers Scholarship Awards Winners

This was by far the largest number of candidates we’ve ever had to review, and what a pleasure that they were very strong applications.

Five students were drawn from a pool of 42 scholarship applications. SWANA chapters across the United States and Canada nominated them. Each student received a $5,000 scholarship.

Eligible students must be children or grandchildren of current SWANA members. Eligible college and graduate students are sponsored by a SWANA member or are a SWANA member themselves.

Category I: Graduating High School Seniors

Awarded to students accepted for enrollment in junior college, four-year college, or university (any program).

Madison Casey
Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter, attending Messiah College.

Grace Dively
North Carolina Chapter, attending North Carolina State University.

Ipsita Tingi
Mid-Atlantic Chapter, attending Princeton University.

Category II: Undergraduate Juniors or Seniors

Awarded to full-time college or university students entering junior or senior undergraduate year. Candidates must pursue degrees in environmental science, engineering, or other major related to solid waste management.

Alaska and New Mexico Roadrunner chapters, attending the University of New Mexico.

Robert P. Stearns/SCS Engineers Scholarship

Awarded to graduate students pursuing degrees in environmental science, engineering, or other major related to solid waste management.

Illinois Land of Lincoln Chapter, attending the University of Illinois at Chicago.
