SWANA

As a result of increasingly stringent discharge standards, a growing number of wastewater treatment plant managers are either refusing to treat landfill leachate or requiring that leachate be pretreated before being discharged to their facilities. Fortunately, a number of treatment processes are available to the landfill manager for on-site leachate treatment. The purpose of this course is to provide landfill managers with an overview of the conventional and advanced treatment processes, including new membrane based systems that can be utilized for on-site leachate treatment or pre-treatment.

This 1-day course provides a focus on the state of commercialization, costs, benefits and risks of each process.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for solid waste managers, landfill managers, consultants, regulators and other decision-makers involved in the evaluation and selection of leachate management technologies for landfills. An understanding of basic chemistry is recommended.
