Two new additions have joined the SWANA staff in the last month, filling positions left open by departing staff members.

April Owens has joined the Meetings & Exhibitions Department as Manager of Exposition Sales. Owens comes to SWANA with a B.A. in English and Government from The College of William & Mary, having recently worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager with Bristol-Myers Squibb, and with over 10 years' corporate marketing and exhibition management experience in the telecommunications, legal publishing, and financial industries. In this position, she will be overseeing and coordinating the sale of exhibit booth space and associated sponsorships at all SWANA events offering booth space, including the annual WASTECON Conference and Solid Waste Trade Show.

Julie Ransom is SWANA's new Marketing Manager. Ransom has a B.A. in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. Ransom came to SWANA by way of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was Executive Director with Pittsburgh Singles Volunteer Network. Ransom previously worked for several trade associations, including the American Chemistry Council and the Air & Waste Management Association. Ransom will be managing the marketing and promotion of SWANA's technical programs and events, membership programs, and internal publications.

"I am pleased to welcome both Julie and April to the SWANA team," said SWANA CEO and Executive Director John H. Skinner, Ph.D. "We look forward to working with both of them to further SWANA's goals in the next year and beyond."
