SWANA Looks Forward To Another Great Year - Elected Officers Announced At WASTECON

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) introduced its new officers for 2008. They discussed programs and plans for the future.

John H. Skinner, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO of SWANA said, "The enthusiasm these newly elected officers is exciting to see. They are geared up and ready to carry out their plans for SWANA. I know all of them are going to do a great job this year."

The Annual Business Meeting of WASTECON commenced with the announcement of the new SWANA International Board officers. For the 2008, Laurie Batchelder Adams of LBA Associates will take the position as President. Vice President will be Carl R. Newby of Arlington County Department of Environmental Services. John Hadfield of Southeastern Public Service Authority will be the Treasurer. SWANA's new Secretary will be Sara Bixby of South Central Iowa Solid Waste Industry. Tom Parker of CDM will continue serving on SWANA's International Board as Past-President. The recently elected officers thanked everyone for their support and presented their plans for SWANA in 2008.
