The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) announce a joint certification in HHW/CESQG Collection Operations.

The certification is offered at the manager and technical associate level, based on level of responsibility, education, and experience. Applicants must score 70% or better on the new HHW/CESQG Collection Operations Certification Exam as administered by SWANA and NAHMMA to become certified.

Once certified, thirty Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are required every three years to retain certification.

To prepare for the certification exam, candidates have the option of attending the HHW/CESQG Collection Operations 24-hour training course which is available through SWANA and NAHHMA.

The exam was administered for the first time this year at SWANA’s WASTECON Training Center in Nashville, TN, in August, and at NAHMMA’s Annual Conference in Portland, OR, in September. To date, thirty hazardous waste professionals have earned certification in HHW/CESQG Collection Operations.
