SWANA Seeks Contract Project Manager for New Certification Course

Silver Spring, MD – The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is seeking an individual or consultant to serve as the contract project manager in the development of a new Construction & Demolition (C&D) Recycling Certification course and exam.

SWANA is currently in the process of updating its construction & demolition (C&D) materials management training course. In doing so, SWANA and members of the review committee determined the new course needed to focus on C&D Recycling.

“SWANA is always looking to create training opportunities for industry professionals that will ensure the environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste,” said Patsy Timus, SWANA’s director of education. "We also always want to be sure that we're addressing the education needs of professionals throughout the industry."

The new course will provide a source of professional development for mid-level professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and credentials. It will focus on maximizing recycling opportunities for C&D material and reducing the disposal of solid waste by examining the best and most current principles and practices in C&D recycling.

A mandatory pre-proposal conference call will be held on May 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. (EDT) to describe the project and respond to any questions of individuals interested in submitting a proposal.

Detailed information about the project, its requirements and important deadlines, can be found in the official Request for Proposals. All proposals submitted will be reviewed and evaluated by SWANA’s Steering committee and industry experts.

For additional information, please contact Patsy Timus at ptimus@SWANA.org.
