The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is excited to announce the dates and locations of RCon™ 2026 and 2027. Hosted by SWANA, RCon is where waste and resource management professionals come to think. It offers a venue for technical learning and collaboration on solutions for the industry.

RCon will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, September 29 – October 2, 2026. SWANA has been impressed with all that St. Louis has to offer and is thrilled to bring RCon to this vibrant city. Looking ahead, RCon 2027 will take place in Portland, Oregon, from September 21 – 24, 2027.

The announcement took place today in Columbus, Ohio at the inaugural RCon. Representatives from St. Louis and Portland joined SWANA on stage to share their excitement, along with members of the local SWANA chapters.

“SWANA is excited to build on the amazing momentum we've had this week at RCon 2025 by announcing the dates for our 2026 and 2027 events,” says Amy Lestition Burke, MA, FASAE, CAE, SWANA's CEO. “RCon's debut has already exceeded expectations and has delivered an entirely new learning experience for the waste and resource management industry.”

St. Louis has a strong commitment to sustainability, championing innovative community projects and grant programs. The city offers many opportunities to learn about local waste and resource management projects. Portland has earned recognition for its ambitious waste diversion strategies, especially on food waste diversion. Both cities are not only excited to host RCon but are ready to showcase their commitment to building a cleaner, more sustainable future for all. Attendees will discover cities deeply invested in advancing local waste and resource management, with many opportunities to explore and learn from successful models.

RCon 2026 and 2027 promise to deliver groundbreaking sessions, hands-on learning, and unparalleled networking opportunities. Exhibitors are already signed up for 2026 and planning is underway, so stay tuned for more details on registration and programming.

“The future of waste and resource management starts here, so don’t miss your chance to be part of it!” continued Lestition Burke.
