SWANA to Modernize Landfill Gas Training – Request for Proposals Opens
The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announced that it is updating its Landfill Gas (LFG) Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Training, a cornerstone resource used nationwide to support resource management professionals.
“The landfill gas landscape continues to evolve, driven by regulatory changes, technological advancements, and an increased focus on performance and compliance,” says SWANA CEO Amy Lestititon Burke. “Updating this training ensures that the industry has access to relevant, practical, and current training that supports safe, effective, and compliant landfill gas operations.”
To ensure that real-world expertise is the driving force behind the course update, SWANA is seeking proposals from qualified firms with the technical expertise needed to update the existing manual and to develop a comprehensive set of training modules aligned with the revised content.
The effort is designed to modernize SWANA’s landfill gas training materials to reflect current regulatory requirements, evolving technologies, industry best practices, and practical field experience across landfill gas system design, operations, maintenance, compliance, and landfill gas-to-energy (LFGTE) systems.
Once updated, the training program will be used by SWANA to support professional development, certification preparation, and industry-leading education across North America.
Qualified firms with expertise in landfill gas systems and training development are encouraged to review the proposal requirements and email their proposals by April 6 to SWANA’s Steve Scarlata at sscarlata@swana.org.
