Product stewardship is a product-centered approach to environmental protection. It calls on all of those in the product lifecycle, including manufacturers, to contribute in reducing the environmental impacts of products. PaintCare, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, represents the paint manufacturing industry's commitment to product stewardship and the environmentally sound and cost effective end-of-life management for postconsumer paint.

In this presentation, Caitlin Sanders, PaintCare's California Program Manager, will give an overview of PaintCare's model of product stewardship, and share the results and lessons learned of the PaintCare program since its launch in 2009. Webinar attendees will learn which states have a PaintCare program, which states are in the works, and how the PaintCare program operates in each state through partnerships with many stakeholders including local governments, waste companies, paint manufacturers, retailers, recyclers, and more.
