SWANA’s Student Design Competition (SDC) is a student team competition to solve “real world” problems faced by solid waste professionals.
The competition provides design experience to the students interested in pursuing an education and/or career in solid waste and management, or related environmental fields. The program engages students with SWANA, provides students real world experience in solving complex solid waste management issues in a supportive and fun environment, gives students an opportunity to display their talents, and offers networking opportunities for students to connect with potential employers.
Student design teams will present their solutions virtually April 9-10, 2025. This year’s project will challenge each team on “Disposal Planning for Sustainable Technologies in Generation and Transportation.”
