SWANA’s Applied Research Foundation Releases FY 2013 Reports Silver Spring, MD – The Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Applied Research Foundation has announced the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2013 reports. Created in the fall of 2000, the Applied Research Foundation (ARF) supports SWANA’s mission of “advancing the practice” of solid waste management through the conduct of collectively-defined and funded applied research projects that address pressing solid waste issues. To date, the ARF has published a total of 38 reports. In FY 2013, three reports were developed with the support and guidance of ARF subscribers: Practical Methods for Measuring Landfill Methane Emissions and Cover Soil Oxidation Source-Separation and Mixed Waste Recycling Systems: A Comparative Analysis Opportunities to Enhance the Benefits and Reduce the Costs of Waste-to-Energy Facilities “These latest ARF reports address pertinent topics such as how to measure landfill gas emissions and cover soil oxidation, how to increase the benefits and reduce the costs of waste-to-energy and how single-stream recycling compares to mixed waste recycling,” said Jeremy O’Brien, director of the ARF. FY 2013 ARF reports are now available for purchase on www.SWANA.org. |
