David Lammers is a graduate student at the University of South Dakota studying sculpture working primarily with cast iron and aluminum. David is in his third and final year of his Masters of Fine Arts degree in sculpture and is also working as an engineer at Total Component Solutions. He completed his undergrad studies at Dordt University from 2004 to 2009 earing a B.S. Engineering and a B.A. Fine Arts: Studio (Sculpture)/Art History Degree. David has always been connected to the land, in farming with his father. He is on the Northwest Iowa Experimental Research and Demonstration Farm Board and is currently the Student Board Member of the International Metallographic Society (2023-2024). David was awarded the 2023 Heat Treat Society/Surface Combustion Emerging Leader Award at the International Materials, Applications and Technology conference held in Detroit October 2023.
