YP Spotlight: Tyler Pinkard

The SWANA Young Professionals (YP) group continues to grow and expand across the country. SWANA YP members have been busy this past year speaking at SWANA events, leading teams, mentoring students, and making strides in every aspect of the industry. Let’s get to know some of these upcoming industry leaders!

Meet Tyler Pinkard, Director of O&M Operations - Carlson Environmental Consultants

Meet Tyler Pinkard with Carlson Environmental Consultants! Tyler has been in the solid waste industry for 12 years. When he started in 2009, he was an entry-level field technician and has held various titles since then from field technician, senior field tech, O&M Field Manager, and now O&M Director for CEC. Tyler also specializes in ET landfills with extensive knowledge of pneumatic pumps, both QED and Blackhawk. Tuning, troubleshooting, and solutions are his specialties.

Tyler tries to attend any and all SWANA events that are applicable to him. He previously attended the VA Beach conference back in 2018, the Quad State Conference in 2019, and registered for the Quad State Event in Roanoke, VA for 2021. He shares, "The networking and seeing old friends and colleagues is very special to me."

Overall, Tyler has only great experiences with being a YP Member of SWANA. He shares, “All of the events are well structured, the breakout sessions are fantastic and informative, and the camaraderie is second to none. I very much look forward to them each year. I would recommend becoming a YP member to anyone who wants to pursue a career in our unique industry.”
