YP Spotlight: Stuart King, P.Eng.

The SWANA Young Professionals (YP) group continues to grow and expand across the country. SWANA YP members have been busy this past year speaking at SWANA events, leading teams, mentoring students, and making strides in every aspect of the industry. Let’s get to know some of these upcoming industry leaders!

Stuart King, P.Eng. – Associate – Dillon Consulting Limited

Stuart currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Atlantic Canada Chapter. Stuart is an Associate at Dillon Consulting Limited (Dillon) and he is a Professional Civil Engineer currently licensed to practice in the provinces of Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He is Dillon’s Account Manager for both Waste Management – Manitoba/Saskatchewan Public Entities and Institutions, and Waste Management – Ontario/East Indigenous Communities.

He has over six years of broad-based career experience managing and delivering diverse solid waste management projects for a variety of private and public sector clients across Canada, where he has provided tailored technical expertise on an assortment of robust design and planning projects.

Internally, Stuart is currently a manager of Dillon’s Early Career Development (ECD) Program, where he serves to enable the growth, development and success of over 20 regional coordinators and over 250 ECD members. Externally, Stuart is also the Chair of the Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (CENS) Future Leaders Committee and the Nova Scotia representative to the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Canada (ACEC) Future Leaders Network.

Stuart is passionate about continuous learning, sustainability, and helping others – whether that be through coaching, volunteering, advocating for inclusiveness, kindness and compassion, or by managing and solving problems that can make an impact in the world.
