SWANA Tapped As Resource For International Association’s Online Training Program

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) met with the Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) last week in their national office to offer guidance on setting up an online training program. SWANA staff shared details of their online programs as well as insights gained by starting a growing a successful online program with the international association.

WMAA is currently investigating electronic training to address the challenges associated with the high cost of travel in a country as large as Australia. Conversations with industry associates in Europe directed WMAA to visit SWANA.

SWANA first began offering online training five years ago. The online offerings have today grown into one of the association’s most popular offerings, serving hundreds of solid waste professionals each year. SWANA currently offers monthly E-Sessions, covering industry topics 3 times a month as well as faculty led and self-paced E-Courses. A schedule of upcoming online training opportunities can be found online at www.SWANA.org.
