Silver Spring, MD – November 14, 2019 – The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) will be exhibiting at the America Recycles Innovation Fair on November 14, 2019, from 1:00 – 6:00 PM ET. SWANA will be showcasing its innovative outreach and education to solid waste professionals, public officials, media, and the public.

SWANA is co-sponsoring the event with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Keep America Beautiful, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, and The Recycling Partnership. The event is part of America Recycles Day (ARD) 2019 being celebrated nationally.

“We are very pleased to have worked closely with EPA staff and other key stakeholders to provide this important new event.” Said SWANA Executive Director and CEO, David Biderman. “SWANA believes that it helps demonstrate many of the substantial innovation and technological advancements that are occurring throughout the supply chain and shows why we should be optimistic about the future of recycling in the United States. We thank EPA for its leadership in making a robust recycling system a top priority.”

The America Recycles Innovation Fair will occur at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. The free Innovation Fair is designed to connect investors with recycling innovators – helping to spur market development and adoption of new technologies to increase recycling rates as well as create new products comprised of post-recycled content.

“Van Dyk is proud to support America Recycles Day alongside organizations like SWANA,” stated Mark Neitzey, Van Dyk Recycling Solutions Director of Sales. “At the Innovation Fair, we will be showcasing the latest in testing research for producing recyclable products and packaging. Together, we can ensure that the way we recycle evolves with the future.”

SWANA is proud to join nearly 40 other recycling innovators from across the country who have been selected to exhibit at the event. A full list is available here. Exhibitors will be showcasing new recyclable products, goods made from recycled content, the latest in recycling and manufacturing research, education and outreach, and exciting new technologies that are advancing recycling today and into the future. This event is open to the press and the public.

“I’m excited to be part of the first EPA Recycling Innovation Fair!” said Susan Graff, Vice President and Principal of Resource Recycling Systems. “We look forward to sharing MRF technologies and system design research that lead us to material recovery for the future – stable supplies of recycled feedstock for US end markets that in turn serve the growing demand for recycled content products.”

A separate reception on November 14, 2019, hosted by Keep America Beautiful will occur from 4:00 – 6:00 PM ET also at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
