Prabhjot Kaur is a Program Analyst for the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment working on the Product Stewardship and Donation & Reuse programs. She immigrated from Punjab and relocated to the Central Valley region of California where she her interests in environmental and sustainability issues were created particularly with racial and social equity. She graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in International Relations and Energy & Its Impacts and she began her career recycling and solid waste management where she worked for the County of San Mateo and City of San Jose. Her primary interests are in policy and regulations intersected with social and racial equity which includes accessibility for residents in metropolitan areas who seek to engage in environmentally and community minded behavior change. She is a recent graduate of the Inaugural Young Professionals Leadership Academy program.
