Waste and Resource Management Professionals Gather at RCon®, Powered by SWANA

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) welcomed attendees from around the world to the launch of the second annual RCon® this week in St. Louis, Missouri.

The opening session included welcome remarks and SWANA updates from SWANA President Lynsey Baer. In the keynote conversation “Safer by Design: How Technology Is Transforming Industry Safety,” industry leaders, including a representative from US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), shared a powerful message about the opportunity to improve safety by leveraging technology and fostering a culture of safety.  

Following the opening session, attendees enjoyed the opening reception in the exhibit hall, which offers the opportunity to connect with exhibitors and participate in a pickleball tournament, disc golf, roundtable discussions, and Rapid Insight Sessions. 

Throughout the week of learning and networking, attendees will select from more than 100 educational opportunities and six tour locations. Four keynote sessions will feature insights on pressing topics such as industry safety, the recycling landscape, and the future of the workforce.

Evening events at notable St. Louis sites include a volunteer appreciation bash at the iconic Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery, a networking event for young professionals and the SWANA awards celebration at City Foundry STL, and an all-conference networking celebration taking place at the City Museum.
