Romeo Vellutini Promoted to Vice President of Safety and Risk

"Waste Pro announces the promotion of Romeo Vellutini to Vice President of Safety and Risk. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Romeo spent much of his life in Las Vegas. He joined the Waste Pro team in 2017 and has more than 29 years of experience in the solid waste industry.

Before joining Waste Pro in 2017, he was an Area Safety Manager for Republic Services. In that role, Romeo was instrumental in developing process improvements, claims/risk reduction, OSHA/DOT compliance, team building, and cultural change. One of his greatest accomplishments was when he and his team were recognized and awarded for finishing first in safety compliance companywide. In his tenure here at Waste Pro, Romeo has taken the lead in increasing the safety protocols throughout the company’s footprint, creating and expanding critical programs that set the precedent within the industry, and leading safety initiatives throughout solid waste management," according to a press release from Waste Pro USA, Inc.


David Ramirez, P.E. Promoted to Director of Engineering and Compliance at ReGen Monterey

Congratulations to David Ramirez, P.E., ReGen Monterey’s new Director of Engineering and Compliance!

We are proud to see this Salinas local rise the ranks at ReGen Monterey to a promotion to the executive leadership team. Mr. Ramirez is a seasoned civil and environmental engineer with two decades of experience. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, he gained experience in both the private and public sectors. His expertise in waste management includes sustainability, compliance, and capital improvement projects.

In his previous role as Senior Engineer at ReGen Monterey, some of his projects included the renovation of a materials recovery facility, waste composition studies, development of new landfill liner modules, as well as other facility infrastructure improvements. He holds licenses as a both a Professional Civil Engineer in California and a FAA Part 107 drone pilot. His industry-specific SWANA certifications as a Manager of Landfill Operations, Manager of Compost Operations, Manager of Integrated Waste Management Systems, and Manager of Zero Waste Practices, underscore his commitment to the waste management industry.
