Hear from President Brenda Haney, other SWANA officers, and CEO David Biderman. Also featuring Timothy Bouldry, who manages the International Solid Waste Association’s (ISWA) Scholarship Programme.

Bouldry spoke at WASTECON-2017 in Baltimore about this worthwhile initiative, which provides money to support families so their children can go to school instead of scavenging on dumpsites. The program began at the La Chureca Landfill in Nicaragua and has expanded to include 71 children at dumpsites in Ethiopia, Honduras, India, Mexico, and Uganda. Bouldry will discuss some of the challenges the program has faced over the past few years, and the terrific “ISWA kids” that SWANA’s contributions have helped support.
