Mr. James M. Thornton, S.C.

Mike Thornton is the Director of Coffee County Environmental Services for Coffee County, AL and has been employed with Coffee County for the last twenty-three years.  His duties include management of two regional landfills, commercial roll-off service, residential collection program, closed sanitary landfill and consulting other county departments concerning environmental matters.  Mike also serves as   President of the Alabama Chapter of SWANA and President of the Alabama Scrap Tire Commission.  He is certified Manager of Landfill Operations and Integrated Solid Waste Management.

Mike received his BS in Biology & Environmental Science from Auburn University Montgomery in 1994 and has 26 years of experience in the Environmental & Safety field.
