SWANA Safety Awards Deadline Coming Up!

At SWANA, we often say that when it comes to safety, “nothing we do is more important.” Solid waste and recycling is essential work that protects human health and the environment. But it can only happen when workers and the public are kept safe at every step in the process. During the pandemic, this became clearer than ever. Without a safe and healthy workforce, there is no solid waste industry.

SWANA recognizes the importance of protecting workers each year with the SWANA Safety Awards. This allows us to highlight the great work being done in the public and private sectors. Many organizations have done a great job protecting workers and the public. Now they deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments by the largest member-based solid waste association in the world.

SWANA is seeking out the Biggest Safety Improvement and Best Safety Innovation throughout the solid waste industry. This year, SWANA is also accepting applications in a third category, COVID-19 Pandemic Response.
