Raymond Joseph Nardelli, Jr.

Ray turned his love of engineering and combustion into a passion for developing standardized flare systems for the landfill gas industry. As the founder of LFG Specialties, Ray pioneered the concept of factory-assembled, skid mounted flare packages, increasing the reliability and consistency of control system construction. He pushed the commercial development of LFG-fueled leachate evaporation systems, helping to create a new application for the landfill gas industry. His love of life was infectious—always with a warm smile and a kind word for clients and friends alike.

Ray served on the Landfill Gas & Biogas Technical Division Board for several years, including as the Chair for the Extraction and Control Committee. He was instrumental in the development of the original Master Construction Specifications for LFG Conveyance Systems and in developing training materials for SWANA courses. Ray was inducted into the Hall of Flame in 2002 and received the Distinguished Individual Achievement award in 2004.
