John Kellas

John started in the solid waste profession more than 35 years ago. John has held roles in many aspects of the solid waste industry including design and operation of disposal facilities, transfer stations, MRF’s, transportation facilities. John has spent more than 25 years with a national solid waste firm as a regional manager across the US and Canada. John and his wife (Carma) relocated to the Washington DC area 6 years ago to work for Fairfax County, VA as the Director of Solid Waste Management Program. Fairfax County has a collection operation, landfills, a transfer Station, and leads the coordination of the waste and recycling process for more than 1 Million residents of Fairfax County.
