SWANA’s Leadership Changes with the Fiscal Year

SWANA’s elected leadership changed on July 1, bringing new officers and several new Board members into top governance roles for the Association.

Additionally, seven Board seats transitioned to new Directors:

  • Region 3 Director Tim Stephens, Solid Waste Supervisor, City of Enid, OK (Region 3 includes the Oklahoma & Texas chapters)
  • Region 7 Director Gary Conover, Vice President, ACUA Solid Waste Division, New Jersey (Region 7 includes the Mid-Atlantic, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania chapters)
  • Region 9 Director John Welch, Director, Dane County, WI, Department of Waste & Renewables (Region 9 includes the Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin chapters)
  • Region 13 Director Linda Churchill, Senior Environmental Engineer, Region of Waterloo, Ontario (Region 13 includes the Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada chapters)
  • Professional Services Director Susanne Passantino, Market Director – Government Affairs, Republic Services, Inc.
  • Technical Divisions Director Allison Trulock, Managing Director – Solid Waste, NewGen Strategies
  • Young Professional Director Hailey Tatum, Engineer 1, Waste Management
