WASTECON On A Roll--Swana Opens The Doors To Its 45th Annual WASTECON

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) enjoyed the sound of tradition this morning as the opening ceremonies for WASTECON took place at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

"I am looking forward to another great and successful WASTECON," said John H. Skinner, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO of SWANA. "This year's schedule is rich with technical content for our members."

At 9:30 a.m., the parade of SWANA Chapter Flags marked the opening of the Exhibit Hall followed by a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, kicking off the convention. During the ceremonies, many people tested their luck with the $1,000 Ribbon Cutting Drawing, and with many congratulations, Renee Hawke walked away with the prize. This exciting event for SWANA and the attendees launches the education on waste management and environmental protection.
