Cointreau Speaks At WASTECON: Key Note Speaker Captivates The Crowd

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) brings an all-star speaker to WASTECON 2007.

This morning, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, the keynote speaker Sandra Cointreau shed some light about the importance of high-quality solid waste management. Mrs. Cointreau, the solid waste management advisor to the World Bank, addressed the consequences of poor waste management.

"Sandra Cointreau has made strong commitments to improving global waste management systems throughout her career." said John H. Skinner, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO of SWANA. "Her link between waste management and the outbreak of epidemics is important for all waste management professionals to acknowledge and take action to prepare for such a crisis."

Mrs. Cointreau took the stage. to discuss the significance of well-planned waste management  and its role in the event of an outbreak of bird flu and other epidemics.
