W. Gregory Vogt, Managing Director of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), has been named as the keynote speaker at SWANA’s 32nd Annual Landfill Gas Symposium. Mr. Vogt’s presentation, titled “Trends Counter to LFG Industry Growth” will discuss changes in waste management practices and regulatory forces that may challenge LFG industry growth, particularly for global regions.
“As the National Member of ISWA for the U.S. and Canada, SWANA is pleased to have Greg Vogt as our keynote speaker to provide his perspective on global LFG developments,” said John H. Skinner, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO of SWANA.
As the chief executive for ISWA, Mr. Vogt is responsible for administration of the ISWA General Secretariat, including advocacy and organizational functions to serve the association’s members and waste industry overall. Prior to joining ISWA, Mr. Vogt worked for a leading US consulting firm where he specialized in waste management planning, gas emissions, corrective action technologies, and alternatives analyses for public/private partnerships. He received the 2008 President’s Award from the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM), United Kingdom.
Mr. Vogt’s keynote address will open this year’s event, which will take place in Atlanta, GA, March 9-12, 2009. Along with the keynote address, the 32nd Annual Landfill Gas Symposium will include training courses, technical programming, facility tours and a trade show featuring the latest in landfill gas technologies and operations.
