SWANA Executive Director and CEO John Skinner, Ph.D. has been invited to speak at the International Solid Waste Association's (ISWA) World Congress and Exhibition being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 7-9, 2005. Skinner will discuss the role of government in municipal solid waste (MSW) management in North America, as well as SWANA's vision for an integrated MSW management system that promotes environmentally and economically sound management of solid wastes.
"It is a great honor to be asked to speak at such a prestigious event," remarked Skinner, "I am excited to be given the opportunity to represent North America before such an important group of international municipal solid waste professionals.
ISWA's mission is to promote sustainable solid waste management worldwide and has members from over 70 countries around the world. SWANA is the ISWA National Member for Canada and the U.S. and represents North America on the ISWA General Assembly.Skinner is an Honorary Member of ISWA having served as their President from 1992-1996. His presentation on A Vision for Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management will be given at the plenary session on November 8.
