Solar panel and wind turbines result in a lot material to manage at their end-of-life and present some unique challenges. Though much is recyclable, some materials don't easily fit within existing recycling and reuse programs, such as turbine blades and the durable mix of materials in solar panels (glass, polymerics, metals, adhesives, and cells). So how can communities handle large amounts of solar arrays and wind blades when it is time to dispose of them?
