The Board of Trustees for SWANA’s Lawrence Lecture Fund is seeking an outstanding national/international leader and expert in the field of solid waste and resource management, or another segment of the field of environmental protection. The individual selected as the Lawrence Lecturer for 2020 will be invited to provide a keynote lecture at WASTECON® 2020, occurring Dec. 7-10, 2020 in Dallas, Texas.
Nominees may have been recognized for research, management, publications, teaching and/or political action, and contributions should have been substantial, significant and sustained. While emphasis will be placed on the recipient working in the field of solid waste or resource management, other fields of environmental protection and advocacy are also considered.
All Chapters, Technical Divisions, and individual SWANA Members are encouraged to submit nominations for this award.
The Lawrence Lecturer receives an honorarium and reimbursement for travel costs to participate in the conference as a speaker. The amount available for travel and the honorarium is determined by the Trustees. The recipient may be a citizen of any country. Joint recipients may be selected if the Committee determines both necessary to the delivery of a successful lecture.
Nominations for the 2020 Lawrence Lecturer must be received at SWANA offices no later than March 31, 2020.
