The International Solid Waste Design Competition (SWDC)

SWANA’s International Solid Waste Design Competition (SWDC) presentations are finally here! Join us to cheer on fellow students from top universities as they compete for the title and prize during the live virtual event! This year's project will challenge each team to evaluate the limitations of the EPA’s Gas Model (LandGEM) and develop an alternative method for landfill emissions estimation.

The final schools competing are:

• Iran University of Science and Technology
• University of Texas at Arlington
• Clemson University
• Jackson State University
• Florida State University

You don’t want to miss this FREE virtual event hosted by SWANA's Young Professionals. It will feature team presentations and a LIVE Q&A by the SWDC judging panel on April 5 from 11 am – 2 pm EST. Then tune in on April 6 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST to see who won during the awards ceremony.
