SWANA Leaders Attend Canadian SWANA Conference

The Canadian SWANA Conference, hosted this year by the SWANA Ontario Chapter in Niagara Falls, Canada, included valuable content on timely topics, exhibitors offering a wide range of services and products, and time to connect with industry colleagues.

SWANA Executive Director & CEO Amy Lestition Burke and President Art Mercer were pleased to provide opening remarks for the event. As a member of the Ontario chapter, Mercer was particularly happy to welcome attendees. In her remarks, Lestition Burke congratulated The University of British Columbia and the University of Regina for their participation in the SWANA International Solid Waste Design Competition.

Sessions on landfill emissions, organics diversion, and safety programs offered valuable content. The tour of Walker Industries featured landfill gas to energy, aggregate recycling, composting, and more.
