Earl Gloster, MPA, Director, Solid Waste/General Services for the City of Clearwater, FL recently retired.
Earl has served the city of Clearwater in numerous roles over a 20-year career with in waste management. Earl and the city of Clearwater have also been long-time subscribers to SWANA’s Applied Research Foundation’s Collection Research Group. Following the Haiti earthquake in 2010, he hosted a group of Haitian solid waste professionals and SWANA staff in Clearwater for a two-day meeting on how solid waste issues created by the earthquake could be managed.
A firm believer in safety, Earl has also served as a SWANA Safety Ambassador in Florida since 2016. He has been a very strong supporter of efforts to improve Clearwater and the industry’s safety performance for many years.
Earl is a graduate of Barry University with an MA in public administration; Saint Leo University with a BA degree in Human Resources Management/Public Administration.
