Transitions - September 1, 2022

SWANA just wouldn’t be SWANA without its members. That’s why we are asking members to report their and their colleague’s career changes, such as new jobs, promotions, and retirements. These "Transitions" will be memorialized in I Am SWANA News articles and shared with the member community. Let’s check out some members who are on the move!

Dennis Batts, Fairfax County, VA former Program Manager, Emergency Operations and Safety (Solid Waste Management) has recently been promoted to Fairfax County’s Strategic Process and Business Administration Manager (Land Development Services).  Dennis is leaving the Solid Waste industry, but staying with Fairfax County, having been in solid waste for 15 years. He states he is looking forward to this new and exciting opportunity but will miss his time serving SWANA's members and mission in the capacity of Safety Ambassador (Virginia's Old Dominion Chapter) and as the Vice Chair of the National Safety Committee.
