SWANA Teams Up With Quest Honors Program

SWANA is excited to partner with the University of Maryland’s Quest Honors Program for the Spring 2021 semester! Hear from SWANA staff member, Shelby Truxon, on showing her school spirit. 

“It’s been a while since my undergrad days at UMD, but when I think back, one of my fondest memories is my time in the Quest Program. I remember being excited each semester to meet my new team members and see what project they would give us to work on. Over the course of the program we re-designed a backpack, learned Six Sigma, worked as consultants for local companies, and were introduced to Design Thinking methods; all things I didn’t expect to learn as a Marketing major or use as a professional in my career. So, when the idea came around to brainstorm new ideas for our membership programming at SWANA, I immediately thought about the Design Thinking methods I learned from Quest. As a result, I had the honor of introducing the whole staff to Design Thinking methods and a team of students from Quest to help with our YP Programming.

I say all this to encourage you to “Show Your School Spirit” too! Whether it’s partnering with your alma mater on upcoming projects or working with your chapter to build Future Leaders. Either way, you never know what your presence can spark in a student’s life.”
