Problem Statement Announced for YP Solid Waste Design Competition

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Young Professionals (YP) Division is holding its 9th annual International Solid Waste Design Competition (SWDC).

SWANA's YP SWDC aims to provide design experience for students interested in pursuing an education or career in solid waste management. The 2023 competition included teams from University of Florida, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Ottawa, Jackson State University, and Florida Atlantic University.

Students have the chance to participate in the SWDC by creating a team. Did we mention there's a chance to win prizes?

Team entries are now being accepted for the program. The application deadline is January 8, 2024.

SWANA Teams

To participate, team members must be student members of SWANA.

SWANA provides FREE membership for full-time students who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees, and PhD candidates, with a focus on environmental sciences, solid waste management, or sustainability.
