Sonia Samir, PE, Ph.D.

Dr. Sonia Samir is a Civil Engineer in Parkhill’s Environmental Sector. Her experience includes landfill design, landfill permitting, cell construction and design, landfill slope stability, leachate collection system design, annual volume calculations, landfill emissions, permit by rule, air permitting and GHG emissions reporting. Since 2018, Dr. Samir has been committed to developing industry young professionals through her work on TxSWANA's YP leadership team as the Region 3 Regional Rep and Chapter liaison, in addition to her current role as a member of SWANA's YP Steering Committee. She received her bachelors from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and received her MS and PhD from the University of Texas at Arlington.
